Brazilian baritone Johnny França is the winner of the 12th and 14th Brazilian Maria Callas Singing Competition in Brazil and the Linus Lerner Singing Competition in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

In 2023, Johnny portrayed Euclides da Cunha in the opera "Piedade" by J. G. Ripper in his debut at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, and Eneas in Henry Purcell's opera "Dido and Aeneas" at the São Pedro Theater. He also performed concerts with the Campinas Municipal Orchestra under the baton of Carlos Prazeres and appeared in the opera "La Fanciulla del West" at the São Paulo Municipal Theater, playing the role of Sonora.

In 2022, he took on the title role in the opera "Aleijadinho, the Master of Brazilian Baroque" by Ernani Aguiar and André Cardoso. He participated in the productions of Kurt Weill's "The Threepenny Opera" as Tiger Brown and "La Serva Padrona/Livietta e Tracollo" as Uberto/Tracollo at the São Pedro Theater. He also portrayed Pantalone in Prokofiev's opera "The Love for Three Oranges" at the São Paulo Municipal Theater. In the same year, he sang the role of Paulo in the premiere of André Mehmari's opera "In Search of the Flower" at the 10th Espírito Santo Classical Music Festival.

His previous performances include Don Giovanni in Mozart's opera at the Berlin Opera Academy and the Teatro Pedro II in Ribeirão Preto. He portrayed Escamillo in Bizet's opera "Carmen" in Mexico and the USA, Count Almaviva in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro," Don Ferdinand in Prokofiev's "Betrothal in a Monastery," Marcello in Puccini's "La Bohème," Eisenstein in J. Strauss's "Die Fledermaus," Chofer in Ronaldo Miranda's "O Menino e a Liberdade," and Onegin in Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" at the São Pedro Theater. At the Teatro Amazonas, he embodied Michonnet in F. Cilea's "Adriana Lecouvreur" and portrayed the Priest in "The Magic Flute" at the São Paulo Municipal Theater, working with conductors like Claudio Cruz, Silvio Viegas, Roberto Duarte, Luiz Fernando Malheiro, Roberto Minczuk, Abel Rocha, and Gabriel Rhein-Schirato.

Johnny is a graduate of the Opera Academy of the São Pedro Theater and the EMESP Opera Studio.
