Known for the beauty of her timbre and striking interpretations, mezzo-soprano Bárbara Brasil was the winner of the Young Soloists Competition of the Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra (OSMG) in 2019, and a finalist in both the Maria Callas Competition (2020) and the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra (OSESP) Competition (2018).
Gaining increasing prominence on the Brazilian operatic scene, she has portrayed roles such as Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus, J. Strauss), Nicklausse (The Tales of Hoffmann, J. Offenbach), Flora (La Traviata, G. Verdi), Carmen (Carmen, G. Bizet), Mamma Lucia (Cavalleria Rusticana, P. Mascagni), and the Beata in the world premiere of Devoção by João Guilherme Ripper, performed at the Palácio das Artes in Minas Gerais.
She has also performed as a soloist in several symphonic works and has taken part in masterclasses with renowned artists such as Eiko Senda, and Michel de Souza. Bárbara is currently a member of the Minas Gerais Lyric Choir.
