Owner of a warm, powerful voice and striking stage presence, Andrey Mira has been standing out in the Brazilian lyrical scene for his vocal solidity, refined musicality, and interpretative versatility.
Winner of the 14th and 19th Maria Callas Brazilian Singing Competition, the 2nd Joaquina Lapinha Lyrical Singing Competition (1st place – male voice), and the X and XI Dóris Azevedo Competition for Young Instrumentalists, Andrey Mira establishes himself as one of the most expressive low voices of his generation.
Throughout his career, he has performed as a soloist in a vast operatic repertoire, including Il Guarany (Gomes); Salomé and Der Rosenkavalier (Strauss); Blue Monday and Porgy and Bess (Gershwin); Les Pêcheurs de Perles (Bizet); La Bohème, Gianni Schicchi, Turandot, La Fanciulla del West, Madama Butterfly and Tosca (Puccini); Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini); La Vida Breve (De Falla); Pelléas et Mélisande (Debussy); Un Ballo in Maschera, Otello, Il Trovatore, Rigoletto, Aida and Macbeth (Verdi); Così fan tutte, Le Nozze di Figaro and Bastien und Bastienne (Mozart); The Consul (Menotti); Viva la Mamma and L’Elisir d’Amore (Donizetti); O Basculho de Chaminé (Marcos Portugal) and O Contractador de Diamantes (Francisco Mignone).
In the symphonic repertoire, his interpretations of the Requiem and the Coronation Mass (Mozart), Fauré's Requiem, as well as Beethoven's Missa Solemnis and Ninth Symphony, stand out.
He graduated from the School of Music of the Federal University of Pará – UFPA, in the class of Dr. Márcia Aliverti, and from the Carlos Gomes Conservatory, in Belém do Pará.
